The Department of Anesthesia offers the highest standard of anesthetic practice in providing quality care of patients from the different surgical specialties such as the Department of Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, ENT Head and Neck Surgery and Ophthalmology.

It boast of dedicated men and women who are committed to provide state of the art in Anesthesia technology to patients irregardless of their economic status, beliefs, religion
or political background. It attends to patients for special procedures outside the operating and delivery room such as the endoscopy room, CT scan, radiology and ultrasonography room, ambulatory surgical unit as well as playing an active role in emergency resuscitation at the MICU, SICU, PICU and Emergency room.

The department also caters to patients in acute and chronic pain particularly the terminally ill patients, cancer patients and other causes of severe intractable pain.
The Department of Anesthesia is committed in the education of medical students regarding the basics of anesthesiology and also the training of medical graduates to become competent anesthesiologists.
