Rationale for the creation of Industrial Health Clinic
MCU-FDT Medical Foundation Hospital is a tertiary, 220 bed capacity private health facility located at the heart of Caloocan City. The center is an accredited Philhealth care provider as well as other licensing agencies both in the government and non-government sectors. The specialty departments are recognized at the highest level by the specialty societies and the residency training programs conform to standards. Fellowships, Postgraduate Courses and continuing Medical Education are active components of learning. Facilities and equipments are state of the art in aid of diagnosing and treating the clients.
Being situated in an industrial zone where most factories and business companies are operating from within Caloocan and adjacent Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela and adjacent Bulacan, the creation of the Industrial Health Clinic is projected to cater to multitude of clients.
The use of the diagnostics in out and in patient facilities would assure sources of revenues for the hospital. Established and accredited HMO’s, Package deals for Executive Check-up, pre-employment, annual check-up packages and offer of job specific examinations such as visual activity test, audiometry , pulmonary function test and neuro-psychiatric evaluation among the income-generating services currently being offered.
Initially, a separate structure to be known as INDUSTRIAL HEALTH CLINIC shall be established. A receiving room manned by a nurse/receptionist and 2 examination rooms will suffice until such time when statistics will justify more examination rooms.
A team of Family Medicine Consultants shall man the clinic from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The schedule follows:

Health Maintenance Organizations, Industrial Companies, Private Corporations, Insurance Agencies seeking accreditation to MCU-FDT Foundation Hospital shall be screened by the office of Administrative Director, Mrs. P.M. Echiverri. Requirements shall be submitted which include (1) Company Profile (2) Financial Statements (3) SEC Registration (4) List of Clients/Employees (5) List of Authorized Signatories. Evaluation of the financial status of the applicant company shall be done by the finance Director, Mrs.Flor de lis Malabanan. One approved, the office of the medical director will start the discussion of the different services to be offered to the applicant company.
Coordinatorship of the applicant company shall be by rotation basis among the Consultants at the Industrial Health Clinic. Assignment of accredited specialists shall be done according to the following criteria:
A Faculty staff of the College of Medicine. This is done to give additional opportunities for income generation by the faculty of the College.
- Active Consultant of the Hospital. This is done over the visiting Consultants, again to give incentive to the MCU-FDT Medical Foundation staff.
- Fellow/ Diplomate of Specialty
- Willing to serve or be on call as accredited specialists
Existing HMO’s with accredited coordinators and specialists will function as is. Coordinators and Specialists holding Clinic at Doctors’ Offices will see their patient in their own offices. The Industrial Health Clinic will only facilitate and direct patients to the offices of these Coordinators. All concerns, issues, information regarding HMO’s may be addressed or sent to Industrial Health Clinic, therefore it will become a one stop area where costumer/ clients needs will be met .
